Barossa Valley Vineyard

Barossa Valley

Scenic Barossa Valley wine region is only 1 hour north-east of Adelaide in South Australia. Fresh air and rolling countryside is scattered with ancient vineyards, old churches and rustic, stone cottages. It is great for a romantic weekend, farm stay or longer holidays, as plenty of accommodation is available throughout the Valley, from cosy B&Bs and country homesteads to luxury resorts.

Take a wine tour or scenic drive and discover well known Australian wineries on the map like Penfolds, Jacobs Creek, Eden Valley or other boutique cellars like Two Hands. Sixty wineries are waiting to be explored, so sample a black Shiraz, Chardonnay or a classic red. Historic winery tours, winemaking and masterclasses are also available.

Local gourmet produce is sold at the markets and local stores. Breads, cheeses, mustards and jams are some of the treats on offer. The area has a distinct German heritage which is displayed in the food and local architecture across the region.

Barossa Valley includes the central township of Tanunda, northern Nuriootpa, Angaston in the east, sleepy hamlet of Bethany, Lyndoch and picturesque Seppeltsfield Road, Marananga. Many special events and festivals are held throughout the year to attract locals and tourists to the region. Barossa Vintage Festival is held every two years to celebrate the vintage drop. Gourmet weekends, music festivals and concerts are among some of the functions held here.

Stunning landscapes and beautiful weather provide the perfect setting for a wedding. Why not have a round of golf at Barossa Valley Golf Club, or try activities like cycling, gliding and horse riding.
